Overview
LinkMyRole is a career management platform built to bring the scattered job search process — spreadsheets, browser tabs, saved emails — into a single, organized workspace. It is Dewan's flagship product and the clearest expression of his shift from supporting technology to building it.
Problem
Job seekers typically track applications across spreadsheets, email threads, and browser bookmarks. Follow-ups get missed, offers are hard to compare objectively, and there is no single view of where things stand across an active search.
Product Idea
Build a private, structured workspace where a job seeker can track every application through a clear pipeline, store supporting documents and contacts in one place, and get help evaluating opportunities — with an option to loop in a career coach when useful.
My Role
Dewan founded LinkMyRole and owns it end to end: product strategy, application architecture, UI/UX design, development, deployment, testing, and ongoing iteration based on user feedback.
Product Decisions
- Organized the core experience around a visual pipeline (Saved → Applied → Under Review → Interview → Offer) rather than a flat list, so status is always obvious at a glance.
- Built a dedicated offer evaluator so decisions are based on comparable data — including estimated take-home pay — rather than gut feel.
- Localized the salary planner for multiple countries (Canada, US, UK, Australia, New Zealand) since compensation norms vary significantly by market.
- Added a coach dashboard as a separate tier, so career professionals can support clients without the product losing focus on individual job seekers.

Architecture & Technology
A modern, cloud-deployed web application with a responsive interface usable on desktop and mobile. Dewan owns the full stack — from data model and application logic through to deployment and monitoring.
Design Considerations
- Clarity over density — the pipeline view prioritizes at-a-glance status over cramming in every data point.
- Mobile-responsive by default, since job seekers check status and respond to updates from their phones.
- Privacy-conscious defaults, since the product holds sensitive career and application data.
Development Workflow
Dewan uses modern AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate research, prototyping, implementation, and testing — while retaining direct ownership of architecture decisions, product direction, and final validation of everything shipped.
Challenges
- Balancing feature breadth (pipeline, documents, contacts, salary tools, offer comparison) against a simple, uncluttered core experience.
- Designing salary and offer-comparison logic that stays accurate and useful across multiple country-specific compensation models.
Current Status
Live and available to job seekers now, with free access to core features and a Pro tier that adds the coach dashboard. The product continues to evolve based on real usage.
Lessons & Next Direction
Building LinkMyRole end to end — from architecture through UX to deployment — has sharpened Dewan's product instincts and reinforced the value of shipping a focused core experience before expanding scope.
